    The train was originally 4-CEP unit 1505, the TSO was removed the large centre window fitted and the lights fitted as well. Sadly in 2005 it was removed from Selhurst and was scrapped at Immingham

    I was one of the two (lucky) Driver Instructor's on the South Eastern who drove this unit for a whole week when it came over on loan for a week or two from the 'Central Division' as we 'Ole Boys' knew it. We gave it a good run out when I was on it as in one week it travelled on all the routes from London to Gillingham (via Dartford or Sole Street), Strood to Paddock Wood, Tonbridge to Redhill, Tonbridge to Hastings and all around the Kent coast. Each day it would return and be berthed at Victoria Carriage Sidings. I was conducted by a Tonbridge Driver from Tonbridge to Redhill and back also from Tonbridge to Hastings and back as Victoria Drivers did not have this route knowledge. It was a pleasure to drive as it had been converted with a lot of thought going into it, and it was fitted with modern light clusters as seen in the photograph. It was very spacious inside and it was converted from (I believe) one of the prototype CEP's. Can anyone shed some light on this please? We were given written instructions of the correct way to cut in and cut out this unit as it had I believe, a Converter instead of a Motor Gererator and to do things the wrong way round could cause some electrical damage. Was 930082 a conversion done by Selhurst Level 5 Depot again?

    the conversion was done by selhurst depot in the lifting shops - the level 5 facility was closed by the time this done.
