  041998 is the frame on top of the other wagon.

  This vehicle is still in existence.. Referring to the photograph dated 24th Jan 2014, it is still within the wagon.Yellow paintwork still apparent.It can be found at the very far end of the test track, the last remnants of the old sidings which were under the 'long bridge' which connected Osmaston Rd to Longbridge Lane.That is now an elevated car park, and a row of wagons are still in existence in a siding along the brick wall.This vehicle is nearest to the car park but some distance away.I will endeavour to attain an updated photograph from another possible viewing point now I know where it is..

  The recent photo is the best you're going to get of this vehicle, I couldn't zoom in any more otherwise it wouldn't have been clear! Plus, it's the other side of the test track.... no one is getting anywhere near it trust me... I thought it was acceptable enough considering where it is situated, plus I had to venture into Pattonair's premises to take it, in which you aren't allowed unless you work there .... took many months of getting round to doing that, so a little disappointed it's not being added as evidence it still exists.... I'm the only one that's proved it!

  Appreciate your efforts Greg but it was too obscured behind the fence this time. Useful to see it still exists though so an updated sighting will be fine for now. I'm sure it will appear again. You will appreciate I can't add every photo to the website.

  This is the pic of 041998 on same day as the other wagon adjacent - possibly 041999. See 041999 page.

  I was sent a video recently showing some of the wagons here and it includes the upturned frame of 041998 so this still survives...

  Greg / Ben - I would very much like to see the picture and especially know the date taken. I'm presuming its the date of Greg's last sighting which is before the movements to Worksop took place. If taken cApril 2020 then 041998 has an allibi for not being a Worksop suspect.

  Hi Peter, yes you are correct the date of the photo is the same as the sighting. Unfortunately the photo wasn't added to the site and I don't have it in my declined photos anymore.. As far as I'm aware it is still in situ at Alstom Derby

  So the frame of 041998 is still sat atop this wagon. Interestingly it was seen yesterday adjacent to another conflat. Photo will be uploaded soon but I'll try to get a look at it tomorrow too. It's not 041999 (or the wagon pictured on this site that is thought to be 041999) as it has different sides.

  Hopefully, someone will have managed to identify it at one of the works open days back in the 1970s & 1980s. I saw a wagon u/f converted to a match wagon for single buffer stock here on 16/8/92 & 29/5/94 which was presumably this wagon. No number visible on it even back in those days.

  I've just looked back through my old notebooks and found a sighting of LMS wagon u/f M49742x at Litchurch Lane Works on 26/8/90 which seems to fit the bill. The unidentified last digit may have been a '9'.
