    Anyone know why this moved from storage in the carriage sidings to its position here in the works? Is it still here or has it been preserved?

    It was moved to the works so it could be scrapped - had to be done inside a building and under controlled conditions due to asbestos. Certainly not preserved - believe it was scrapped in 2000 soon after the photo was taken (although not confirmed).

    977191 was still dumped at Crewe Works last year - I haven't seen or heard any reports of it being scrapped so it may even still be there.

    THIS VEHICLE LEFT ZC BY ROAD FOR MEAFORD POWER STATION STONE STAFFORDSHIRE AND WAS SCRAPPED BY SUB CONTRACTOR PERKINS MACKINTOSH DATE UNKNOWN . CAN I THANK BOMBARDIER FOR HELP WITH THESE DISPOSAL DETAILS TO COMPLETE THE HISTORY ON THIS COACH. NOTE VEHICLE 7183 ALSO DEALT WITH AT MEAFORD AS IT ALSO CONTAINED ASBESTOS.

    moved onto ZC BETWEEN 18 FEB 2000 - 02 MARCH 2000.
