Was this coach withdrawn in this condition or has the "Highland Stag" been applied by staff at the Churnet Valley.

I would say that the original logo from its Inverness days has been retained during the red repaint...

Predominantly yes - applied to locos allocated to Inverness but the snowploughs and snowblower / support vans got them too...

I remember this vehicle leaving Inverness TMD on the back of an Alley's Heavy Haulage lowloader and it was in the Yellow livery that Breakdown Train Vehicles carried at the time and it had the "stag" emblem at that time. This vehicle and its mate(Toolvan) were usually kept undercover beside the Snowblower vehicles in the Shed at Inverness hence the good condition. It only took the Alley's crew 45 minutes from the time they negotiated the tight entrance, loadedthe vehicle and negotiate their way back onto Longman Road. The Toolvan left Inverness the following day by road presumably for the same destination.
