these dbso's look good, its a shame some of the spare MK3 dvt havent been utilised by the spot hires, network rail etc

No photo, but the yellow/(matt) black spilt is similar to DB975081. It is done to reduce reflection interference off of the bodywork of vehicles adjacent to the optical car. The four vehicles in the formation have all received a recent overhaul and repaint.

Far to much engineering required to use a Mk3 DVT. These DBS's have had some mjor mods, also the Mk3 DVT's are registered as None Passenger Carrying Coaching Stock, so to fit them with facilities for crew's would mean reams of paperwork for approval etc.... Also, they can't go to as many places as a Mk2 DBS.

9708 is now being converted to a "standard" generator RTOV as the structure gauging train is being disbanded - now replaced with SGT2 977985/977986.
