Was it a fairly common practice to put 'DB' in front of the IU number?

Is it known what is written on the side of the skip and its use? I can make out 'Buxton' and below that something ending in 'field' and then below and to the right possibly a number.

Eddie, Strictly speaking, the "DB" prefix applied to an IU number is incorrect, but this was a local fashion at Beighton Jcn. p.way depot.

The skip belongs to a local scrappy, the "...field" lettering could be either Sheffield or Chesterfield, Beighton Jcn being roughly halfway between the two!

The wagon is formerally a "Single Bolster" (body removed), ex- B 917363 built Sheildon 1957 to lot number 3006, diagram 1/402. Note in the photo that the (modified) floor is made up of lengths of bullhead rail to act as ballast.
