This loco was a dedicated departmental shunter for propelling the Severn Tunnel Emergency Train.

I know the emergency train consisted of a MK1 BG and a lomac conversion, but were there any other coaches/trucks involved?

The original train had TDB977526 (ex Mark 1 BSK), two lowmacs, a TTA water tanker and a BR 12t van. This was subsequently changed to its current formation of 977526, 975497, 975615, two lowmacs and a TUA water tanker. Can look up numbers of the wagons if requested and point you in direction of some pics.

Thank you, numbers and pics would be nice. This would make a nice model, a change from the normal rake of coaches or trucks.

Train loco on this day was 09015. I'll have to have a look at my notes for the earlier formation.

Simon (or anyone else who knows),

What was the number of the Br 12t van used in the original formation, as mentioned above. Any pic to go with it? (I have one, but its a little far away).

Van was TDB786001. Rest of the vehicles were TDB977526, lowmacs TDB904708 and TDB905093 and tanker TDB999098.

I've got one pic of the van but its farely useless!

I've been away from the Railway world for some time, and was wondering what sequence of numbers are being used, since the 977 series has been exhausted. Any ideas.

    Thanks Deltic
