this appears to be a vehicle from the prototype class 210 demu , some of these vehicles saw further use as experimental emus.

It was originally vehicle 58000 (later 60450) the TC from 210002. The furthest door and window/s were the first class end. This vehicle was latterly cut at EMR Attercliffe (Sheffield) in Jan 1996. Other 210 vehicles in departmental stock were 977649 and 977650, both now cut.

I think its something to do with all electric trials that this vehicle was used for. It was perhaps instead of air operated horns,must be a klaxon type of affair.
