I worked on these coaches when they were part of the West Coast Modernisation Pileing trains. Mostly servicing the generators and fixing burst water pipes during the winter months. Happy days.

Are the interiors changed much or is the seating left in the "staff" sections?

This one still has it's compartments, but the brake area now houses a large generator, and the gaurds compartment houses a toilet. One of the compartments has also been converted into a small kitchen area.

Some of the others were open plan (the one with the small body side windows was anyway)

Excluding the technical centre, these are the last truly 'departmental' coaches. And to think there used to be so many.................

Take your point Jon, but not quite so barren yet.

Still a few match/barriers for unit movement, and a BTU or two.

This was delivered by Alleys to the Bluebell at evening rush hour on 22nd October. It caused a great queue on the A22 up to Wych Cross and I then followed it down the A275 dodging falling twigs dislodged by its height!
