It turns out there were in fact two issues of the number 70314! Keith tells me:
" I should perhaps have made it clear at the time of sending you the photo that my picture of the grounded DS70314 at Craigentinny is of DS70314 the first! This was a PMV S1150S that was taken into departmental stock in 1970 as a Stores Van at Craigentinny CS, but as it was grounded there it was decided to re-use the number. DS70314 (i) was scrapped on site by BR staff in 1/1975.
The second DS70314 was a CM&EE Staff Coach, ex Bulleid SO S1482S (actually SC1482S, as it was one of a number of Bulleid coaches that had migrated to the Scottish Region) that was sold from Bellahouston CS for use on the Bluebell Railway in 3/1973. [It is the details of this vehicle that have been used on the site]"
