Hi, can anyone tell me if this used to be fitted with the frontal Push-Pull MW cables in the same way that the ScotRail 47/7's did please? I saw this loco quite a lot in the Eastleigh area in the early 90's and was sure it had them!

no it never had the same mw as the 47/7 - think it had class 47 mw same as the rfd ones

Never as Scotrail. The RFD locos had "green circle" MU. 47971/4/5/6 had "Blue Star", although using similar connections, but mounted below the headcode box, not in between the marker lights. 47972/3 both had blanked off holes above each rear red light, possibly used for passing cables between loco & train
