Officially at least this was sold to Archie King & Son Ltd, Snailwell on 12th June 1975 under British Rail tender document 52/230/552T/050 and was recorded as arriving at the scrapyard during period 9/1975 according to official documentation. Can anyone how it came to be rescued for preservation at all please.

Th information I have for this vehicle was condemned at Whitemoor Up Repair Sidings in 5/75, and moved from Whitemoor Yard to W.E. Knappett on 9/7/75 for scrap, but was then moved to preservation at the East Anglian Railway Museum, Chappel & Wakes Colne c. 9/75, then to the Great Central Railway, Loughborough on 17/5/81.
