It could be argued that this should never have been included in the Lineside Publications and Platform 5 Publishing Departmental Coaching Stock books as it was never re-numbered into one of the number series used for Departmental Coaching Stock. Like several others on the Western Region converted from wagons it simply had 'D' added to its 'W123821' wagon number when converted to a Steam Heating Boiler Van. Later the additional prefix 'A' was added as a result of TOPS.

A blast from my past seen when passing Carnforth yesterday. This spent many a year in the mid-1980s at Polmadie in Glasgow in the siding next to the car park in the company of 395947 (see picture of the latter on this site for both at Millerhill) but I have no exact dates to hand.
