ADW80990 lot 633, Dia DD3, built Swindon 1910. Condemned at Landore 6/79 and to IU as 070847. To Severn Valley Rly 11/95.

I visited Landore in January and March 1983. On both occassions I noted 070847 to be present. However, on both these occasions I identified it to be GWR 6-whl Milk Tank 3108. On neither occasion did I record ADW80990.

There is no doubt, thanks to Paul's picture that in 1987 ADW80990 was numbered 070847.

The mystery deepens as in Decmber 1989 I recorded GWR 6-whl Milk Tank 3108 at Bulmers Railway Centre, Hereford. However, I have never seen it recorded in any preservation listings, neither have I seen it subsequently.

Did anyone else see GWR 6-whl Milk Tank 3108 in the 1980's or subsequently and if so what other numbers did it carry?

Thanks to Brian the mystery is solved. He says that he visited Bulmer's on 15/9/90 and the only tank wagon he saw was ADW43949 061041, noting it down as 3108 gallon. I then found this reference to DW80990 070847 in the Severn Valley Railway Stock book "Forty-one were built between 1895 and 1911 , and branded to carry 3,108 gallons exactly".

Happy to accept I made the same mistake thrice!!
