    10 April 2004 - Ben Williams

This almost takes the prize of "Most well hidden IU wagon by undergrowth" from 041681 at Kings Lynn!

Tried to find this today but failed. Found some bogies in the undergrowth with the Crocodile wagon towards Cynwyl Elfed adjacent to the trackbed but it just had 2 wheel sets.

Well I've since been told that I was in the right place but the bogies I saw were not right for the remains of a six wheel milk tank so they may now be under a coach body. There was a body on wheels at Bronwydd but I didn't pay much attention... and no photo.

    Well I've recently been told:

"...the LMS underframe was at Conwil Station and was sold to a group on the Swindon and Cricklade railway about two years ago.

their plan is to lengthen it and use it under one of their Victorian carriage bodies."

  • 29 November 2019 - Brian Cuttell

Moved to Peak Rail at Darley Dale in November 2019 for spares for the future restoration of 041963. Only frame left (wheels already removed) by 29/11/19 so it may not last much longer.

  • 10 December 2019 - Brian Cuttell

Frame reported cut up on site at Darley Dale on 1/12/19.

  • 29 December 2019 - Brian Cuttell

Correction - the frame was cut up at Darley Dale later in December 2019.
