This van appeared on an EWS disposals list a while back but can't really see it being a very attractive proposition to anyone in its current state?!

Neither myself on this visit or Brian on a subsequent visit saw any ID on this van...

If you go on the train will you see it or can you walk to it from the station.

I visited this location on Saturday 23rd May 2015 & there was no sign of this van.
I can only assume it has now been scrapped

Not been to Harwich for a while but understand some changes have taken place in order to accommodate HOBC trains. Can anyone with a good knowledge of the vicinity say whether this affected the spot were 041676 was located.
I presume this was Tony's first visit hunting for the van? If so I wonder if anyone else who has seen it in recent years has re-visited and also could not find it? The reason for asking is that whenever a van body goes missing and is presumed scrapped I always seek conformation that it is no longer present from someone who has actually seen it there in the past. I suspect I am not the only one who has gone hunting for a body and not found it to then be told later "Did you go around the corner and look over the wall" or something similar. A subsequent visit then finds it.

I came out of Harwich International Station then along Station Road bearing right where the sidings come into view & the site where on Google Earth the vehicle was visible.
I would obviously like confirmation whether it has been scrapped on site or moved to another area

The vanfit to the right should be this one

A bit of a late answer to the "Anyone know the ID of the dilapedated van behind?" question - a crawl through some old LRWS "National Freight Scene" magazines (issue 81, Sept/Oct 2000) suggests that the van is/was B762307.
(Same snippet also mentioned a B767649 on the opposite side of the yard, but not glimpsed on my 2006 trip)
