    Not directly related to the subject of the photo but what happened to the 47 in the background? I dont recall an accident around this time.

    The 47 behind is 47215 which collided with a ballast train in a possession at West Brompton on 30/07/89. It was moved to Eastleigh Yard on 28/03/92 and cut up on site by Gwent Demolition on 14/09/93. (All courtesy of "The Allocation History of BR Diesels & Electrics" by Roger Harris).
