About these vehicles (975816-830) John told us:
"Information detailed though Roger Butcher's 9/84 column in Rail Enthusiast. They were sent to Kings scrapyard at Snailwell in 1979 for removal of their bodywork and were returned to Whitemoor Yard in 10/79. Work on erecting Portakabins never took place although both Shildon and then Ashford Works were to have done so. Storage of the vehicles took place at Whitemoor Yard, Acton Yard, (5/82), and then Greenford before the scheme was abandoned and they were sent for scrapping at Horwich Works in 2/83 and recorded cut 3/83."
