Is this the BTU van that was for sale on E-Bay a few weeks ago (sold by Reid Freight)?

The one pictured on eBay was 975465. I was told Embsay were going to have both originally but it was deemed too expensive and 975465 is now still for sale.

Will check on the sale of 975465 as I understood this was being bought by another group for use at Embsay rather than the railway themselves. If the sale has fallen through I may just arrange a new price for it...

Good to hear that it's going to be yellow! Far too many preserved departmental coaches get repainted back to green etc!!

Very smart repaint back into its original BTU colours
6 December 2016 - Peter Hall
If I am not mistaken this was originally in a red livery after conversion to departmental use. It acquired yellow livery after that was adopted for all BTU carriages in the mid/late 1970s.

Thanks Peter. "Original" in my life time :)

Peter is correct; when we were rubbing it down for repaint there was plenty of evidence of a coat of red underneath everything else. We thought it strange as red was a steam crane support vehicle colour and as far as we are aware it never ran with one. Corrections welcome though!
