A SR PMV carrying number 2196 is now located at Railway Retreat, Northiam which possibly could be this. Needs confirmation as two SR PMV are now located at this location along with another at the adjacent 'The Carriage' hardressers. RHRP list the latter as 1218 http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=386 Although adjacent to the Kent & East Sussex Railway Railway Retreat and The Carriage are at a different location. 083572 is also at Railway Retreat.

Did post a comment a week or so ago about this containing links, but it never appeared. Lost in cyber space or dodgy links perhaps. Thus, trying again without links.
Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago I made a brief visit to Railway Retreats, Northiam. Note that this is adjacent to the Kent & East Sussex Railway station but not a part of the railway so probably best considered as a seperate location.
My records record two items of former departmental coaching stock at this location, 083572 which was present and 024534 which wasn't. I hadn't expected 024534 to be present as it has been reported elsewhere that it is away being converted to additional holiday accommodation for the site.
In addition I expected to find SR PMV 1218 at the location in use at the adjacent premises of 'The Carriage' hairdressers. I was surprised to actually find three SR PMV's on site. One in use at 'The Carriage' and two in use as holiday accommodation. One of the latter now carries the number 2196 which if correct means it is the former DS93 but I couldn't confirm that. One of the other two is presumably 1218 but as to the identity of the third I have no idea, perhaps this is another ex departmental.

Further to my comments in 2021 I again visited Railway Retreats, Northiam last week. Again I would suggest Railway Retreats, Northiam be set up as a seperate private preservation location as 024534 and 083572 are also located there. Note the spelling of Retreats with a s on the end.
Whilst the three 4-wheel "southern woodies" on site give the impression of being PMV's with no end doors in actual fact there are two PMVs and one CCT. The PMVs are DS93 and 1218. The CCT is 024534 which now has PMV style ends.
Thus, when I visited in 2021 I saw PMVs DS93 and 1218 along with CCT 024534 and not three PMVs as I originally thought.

Roger's comment regarding DS11 suggest that DS93 probably left the Mid Hants in c2015. The only subsequent sighting at the Mid Hants being that by Hez and G. Goswell on 14/10/2020. Be useful to know if the sighting by Hez and G. Goswell was a 100% verification, presumprion of identity or error inputting an observation on here.

So am I right in thinking the sightings of this one at Railway Retreats need to be deleted?

Probably. It must be emphasised though that they are actual observations of a van carrying the number 2196 which had at the time been believed to be 2196. Why this van carries that number remains a mystery.
