This carriage is blue and grey on one side (as seen here) and plain blue on the other side (see other photo on the site.)

Primarily, the ACLG wanted the car for the generator it contained. Barrow Hill have a 'no units' rule and in an effort to disguise the car, they painted the black window surrounds on it to try and make it look like a PCV vehicle.

BH primarily have a 'no units' rule due to lack of storage space. As some of you will know, there are plans in hand to extend the amount of siding space available on the other side of the approach line. Most, if not all, stored locos and coaches are likely to be moved over to those sidings once built. Public access to those sidings may or may not be a problem in the future. However, units may be entertained thereafter.

This unit is now in position to be cut at Caerwent and is in an almost gutted state with doors and majority of its interior removed. Looks a very sorry sight indeed.
