Is this visible from anywhere as I require this?

Yes its visible from the A40 into London - on the left as you cross over the Tube lines on the approach to Gipsy Corner.

This shell is still in place, I noted it yesterday. As well as the A40 it can be seen from Central Line trains travelling to and from Ealing Broadway.

Bloody Hell! It's still there! I used to see that thing every day for several years when I used to commute to LU Ealing Common Depot! In my 32 years on the Underground, it always looked like that!

... and not completely forgotten as there is a plan to remove it at some point soon! How exactly this will happen is another matter......

Apparently located in the Western Trading Estate Siding. What ever serves/served.

Had another look at this today - I think the siding it is sat on has been disconnected but it is adjacent to the sidings into the Park Royal Tarmac depot (not sure if trains still serve this these days but the sidings still run into the yard.) If anyone was keen enough to try and get it out I think it would have to be jacked up and shifted across to the Tarmac depot. Only good for underframe though of course - if that!

I think this may now have gone. Tried my best to look out of a packed Central Line train but didnt seem to get a visual. Can anyone confirm?

I'll try to check some point soon - its easier to see from the A40 (and in winter!)

    Hi,

Can confirm this is still in its location, seen 14/11/10, photo here: http://wavygravy.fotopic.net/p68111559.html

I dont think it can be seen from Central Line trains to Ealing Broadway, as they dip down to go under the A40 and turn away from it, but might be able to from trains to West Ruislip? Having had a search for it by tube before, it's certainly much easier to see from stood on the footpath of the A40!

That seals it then. I realise now by reading your comment that it cannot be viewed from the Ealing Broadway branch of the Central Line. Thats why I couldn't see it. I have seen it from the tube before so it must be visible, albiet briefly, from the West Ruislip branch. Thanks.

Further to earlier deliberations, this vehicle is perhaps most easily viewed from the ex GC/GW joint line from Old Oak Common to South Riuslip. Passed recently on one of Chiltern Railways diverted trains that were running all week into Paddington.

There is also one train a week that leaves Paddington bound for High Wycombe that can be taken. It leaves Padd at 11:35 but not sure if this is everyday.

Just passed here by car and I can't be 100% sure but I think it may have now gone? Anyone seen it recently?
