Time to catch up with news over the last month or so...Movements
72706 was seen at Derby RTC stripped of windows and doors at the beginning of March. By the end of the month it had appeared at Booths. 72612 and 72613 were later reported running as a two coach set...
977591 finally moved from Newport Godfrey Road to the docks area on 7th March. It remained there for a few days before being removed by road on 15th where it was last seen heading north along the M5. It is thought to have been saved for preservation although its destination is currently unknown.
The Old Oak Common BTU was seen spending several weeks at Temple Mills during March.
975460 has turned up at Barrow Hill - formerly at Birmingham Railway Museum.
999507 seems to be now based at Llangollen Railway (formerly at Middleton Railway, Leeds.) It's not certain whether this is a permanent move or a long term loan while Middleton carries out track remodelling work. It moved as far back as May 2005!
***UPDATE APRIL 10TH 2006 *** This vehicle has now returned to the Middleton Railway - arriving on 21st March.
30th March produced an interesting movement out of MOD Ludgershall - 977991, 977990, 6261, 975087, 975471, 975477 all moved to Acton yard along with breakdown crane 96715 and Geismar unit 98305 & 98306. By 2nd April the consist had moved to Old Oak Common.
Disposals
025017 is thought to have been scrapped on site by HNRC at Crewe TMD during February. 975991 is still escaping the cutting torch at present!
975547 was finally scrapped at Immingham Railfreight Terminal on 14th March after being there since at least September 2003!
Other news
6390 went into the carriage shed at Butterley in late February 2006 for contract repairs.It is ultimately destined to be a storage coach at another railway but its present livery is expected to be retained.
Former Thornaby internal user tender 041249 has been confirmed still in existence at a haulage company's yard near Doncaster Hexthorpe yard.
The two new Severn Tunnel bubble cars 977975 & 977976 were shunted out of their usual compound to a cripple siding up the yard by the old emergency train and loco 09017 on 18th March! It is thought these units are already now redundant in favour of road rail vehicles!
The former milk tanker at Brightlingsea boat yard was discovered to actually be 079030 and not 079073 as previously thought - seen on 18th March.
An interesting report at the end of March confirmed which wagons and coaches remained at Wolverton works now. 977359, 024916, 024883, 024873, 025008 were all noted on site. This is thought to mean the rest of the internal users were scrapped or removed recently.
70133 at Kineton has been bought and is heading for Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway soon.
The Loadhaul bubble car 55012 (977941) remains at Thornaby...
The mysteries surrounding 024953, 061094, the Hinksey & Ashford coaches continue... If anyone knows anything about these movements please get in touch!

025017 was found yesterday lurking inside the shed at Crewe TMD!
975991 is still escaping the cutters torch - it has been there now since May 2005!
