A brief look at what has been happening over the last month or so...

Sales and movements
Three IU vans at Eastleigh works 082949 083379 and 083608 (70020) came up for sale during October but were later apparently taken off sale temporarily while they found replacement vehicles. It later emerged however that 083608 has indeed been sold although the new owner isn't yet known.

Box van 024762 has been sold and moved to Titley Junction station in Herefordshire and 024921 arrived at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway on the 4th November ex Longsight.

45030 / 042205 has been found at Moveright's yard at Wishaw although its new owner or final destintion is currently unknown.

The former Doncaster test train that has sat opposite the station in the west yard has now been moved - possibly to the back of Bombardier works although this has not been confirmed. It is also rumoured that these coaches have been sold but again this is unconfirmed.

975008 visited the SVR with refurbished green 975007 for their Railcar 50 event at the end of October.

Disposals
060951 was cut up at Taunton on the 14th September 2004, and 083577 and 975522 were cut up at Ashford OTPD by Raxstar during October along with several items of On-Track Plant.

Most of the vehicles from units 930201 and 930205 moved to Immingham at the end of October / beginning of November except for 977872 which remains outstanding. For full details of the sandite vehicles that have been cut up at Immingham recently please click here

Other news
Siemens barriers 6321-5 moved to LNWR Crewe for use with new class 350 units undergoing commissioning there soon. Other Crewe Carriage Sidings residents 889009 and 889015 are back on the market following a narrow escape from the scrapman when the class 151 units were recently cut up!

083439 has been painted into SWT colours at Wimbledon.

Ferry van 889026 has been spotted still at Gloucester after initially thinking it had been scrapped during the summer.

Structure guaging train coaches 977985 and 975081 carry a new version of the NR livery - they are now black for a quarter of their bodysides alongside optical car DC 460000.

The conversion of 62356 to a new ultrasonic test coach is thought to be complete after emerging at LH Plant's yard at Barton in yellow livery recently. It has now been revealed that this has become 999606.
