Another summary of recent changes and movements977776 arrived at the Midland Railway Centre at the end of May to re-join its partner 977775 which has already been repainted in all over blue livery. Meanwhile 55012 (977941) still remains at Thornaby - the buyer of this unit is still currently unknown.
A few developments in the Norfolk area - 041681 the mineral wagon previously hidden in the bushes at Kings Lynn has been seen at Hardingham station. LEV1 railbus 975874 has finally ended its sad days under tarpaulin outside the National Railway Museum and has now moved to the North Norfolk Railway - seen there at the end of June.
Further south - ferry van 889027 has been found at the Exeter & Teign Valley Railway. This van spent many years out of use inside the shed at Exmouth Junction. It appears that it has had a recent repaint into brown livery (see photo below.) 977907 has moved from St. Leonards depot near Hastings to the Pump House Museum, Walthamstow to join Laboratory 4 'Hastings' 975386.
977860 appears to have moved to LNWR Crewe Carriage shed following a long period of time out of use and part-refurbished at Ashford OTPD. Why this move has taken place or what the future holds for this unit is not yet clear but watch this space!
****UPDATED 18TH JULY 2004****
This unit has apparently been sold by Network Rail to South West Trains and it is to be converted into a route learning saloon, hence it's trip to Crewe.
I have been informed that the two redundant OHLM trains at Carstairs and Portobello are currently up for disposal through First Engineering. If anyone is interested in any of these coaches I can put you in contact with the right person...
999801 made the move from Plasser's works in West Ealing by low loader to MOD Bicester at the beginning of July. It is not yet clear whether this is for temporary storage or training purposes before main line testing.
Finally a few more vehicles that have been cut up - 975103/7 were cut at Willesden by Raxstar back in March and Central Railways dealt with 395896 & 977726 at Edge Hill during April.
****UPDATED 31st JULY 2004****
The two DMU Barrier vehicles 6362 and 6363 have now also been fully scrapped by the same contractor at Edge Hill after lying on their sides partially cut for a couple of months!
