News - New Chiltern conversion

A 2-car first generation DMU has become one of the latest new conversions.The new unit has been converted during August and September 2003 at LH Group Services at Barton under Needwood in Staffordshire.
Formerly BR numbers 51371 and 51413 they have now become 977987 and 977988 respectively.
It is to be used as a water cannon unit for use on the Chiltern lines.
After being released from LH Group at the end of September it was noted at Ilford (for tyre turning) and then heading towards Aylesbury on 14th October where it is now working out from most nights.
