Another departmental vehicle has come up for sale - this time its an inspection saloonThe vehicle in question is LMS maroon saloon DM 45030 (also allocated 042205 - IU number carried on the underframe) This currently resides in the yard at York at the back of the Jarvis works and has been there for many years...
Quoting from the Car Services UK website:
"A largely complete inspection saloon with air-operated steps on either side. The Galley contains a fridge and gas oven. Upholstery in the guards compartment requires replacement. The two saloons are devoid of furniture other than a desk. The original LMS ceiling lights have been replaced with strip fluorescent lighting in the saloons. The interior does appear to be dry though it will require repainting and varnishing. The exterior is generally sound but two window surrounds are displaying signs of rust and one side has been the subject of graffitti. The vehicle is Dual Heat & Dual Braked"
