| Directions - view map From M48 Junction 2 (the old Severn Bridge route) take the A466 towards Chepstow. Turn left at the first roundabout onto the A48 towards Newport. After a couple of miles, turn left onto the B4245 towards Caldicot. Stay on the B4245 to Rogiet where Severn Tunnel Junction Station is signposted on the Left. From M4 Junction 23A take the B4245 signposted towards Caldicot and Magor. Stay on the B4245 to Rogiet where Severn Tunnel Junction Station is signposted on the Right. From the B4245 in Rogiet head straight down the road through various junctions in the housing estate, without tuning off. After half mile or so the road deteriorates and there are three roads in front of you, Left to the Station, Ahead to a bridge over the main line, Right to the depot. Turn right and follow the road parallel to the main line. The emergency trains are on your left, the DMUs 977975 and 977976 are in a fenced compound, but easily photographed. At the end of the road are cottages and the old emergency train and 09017 (December 2004). |
